Marcus Benavides is a registered patent attorney at Bragalone Conroy PC. Marcus focuses his practice on intellectual property litigation and consultation. His emphasis is on America Invents Act (AIA) post-grant proceedings including post-grant review (PGR), inter partes review (IPR), and covered business method (CBM) proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board of the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
Marcus has assisted clients in attaining, litigating, and defending the intellectual property rights in a range of technological fields, including telecommunications, facial recognition, computer software and hardware, farm equipment, HVAC, tools and equipment, swimming pool design, nanotechnology, MEMS devices, orthodontic devices, spinal implant devices, health monitors, and consumer products (solar-powered products, animal feeders, remote controlled gas-powered toy vehicles).
Marcus also has extensive trademark experience. In that work, he has prepared and prosecuted trademark applications representing clients before the USPTO. He has prepared freedom-to-use and registration opinions for trademarks. And he has managed trademark litigation involving likelihood of confusion, priority, unfair competition, and domain name issues in U.S. district courts and before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.
Prior to becoming an attorney, Marcus was an Attitude and Pointing flight controller in Mission Control for NASA’s Space Shuttle Program.
